At Anaïk, our climate policy is based on two complementary pillars: reducing our emissions at source and contributing to carbon reduction and sequestration projects when certain emissions cannot be avoided.
Reducing our carbon footprint in our operations and value chain is our priority. However, certain operational constraints remain. In these cases, we have set up a contribution mechanism: the carbon pool.
The carbon pool: turning a constraint into an opportunity
In our industry, cost and time constraints can sometimes make air transport necessary. Rather than just accepting this, we've decided to turn it into a way to take climate action.
Each client project requiring air transport thus generates a contribution of €100 per ton of CO₂ emitted, which is paid into a dedicated fund. This fund, financed by our clients' projects, enables us to finance concrete carbon sequestration initiatives.
This mechanism transforms an operational constraint into an opportunity for climate action.
In 2025: €28,000 invested to accelerate the local agricultural transition
In 2025, our carbon fund enabled us to commit €28,000 to carbon offset projects.
The majority of this contribution was devoted to a local agricultural transition project, in order to make our approach even more tangible and rooted in our region.
A project in Villeneuve-d’Ascq, alongside Agoterra
Nearly €23,000 has been invested to finance the transition of a farm located a few minutes from our headquarters in Villeneuve-d'Ascq.
This project is supported by Agoterra, a mission-driven company based in the Hauts-de-France region that connects committed businesses with farmers who want to shift their practices toward a more regenerative model.
Certified Low Carbon Label, the project aims to reduce or sequester 547 tons of CO₂ over five years, of which 419 tons are financed by Anaïk.
In concrete terms, this agricultural transition is based on several changes in practices: adding organic matter to enrich the soil, integrating grasslands into the agricultural system, reducing chemical nitrogen fertilizers, and maintaining plant residues to sustainably nourish the soil.
Beyond the measurable carbon impact, this project has particular value for us. It is part of our local community, supports a local farmer committed to transition, and makes our contribution visible and tangible.
Being able to observe the tangible effects of this transformation close to our premises adds an extra dimension to our approach. We are also committed to visiting the site regularly with our teams to monitor its progress.
A soil sequestration project in Germany
In addition to this local project, €5,000 has been invested in a soil sequestration project in Germany, certified by CSA Group, which we are supporting for the second consecutive year.
A complementary approach to reducing our emissions
Carbon offsetting never replaces reducing our emissions. It is an additional lever, aligned with our climate goals.
Transforming an operational constraint into a positive impact, supporting agricultural transition, and taking concrete action for the climate: this is the meaning we wish to give to our commitment.
